Voyager Torture features Vincent reviewing an episode of Star Trek Voyager that he’s seen for the first time and Chris Piers creating a drawing based on that episode based solely on Vincent’s review and never having seen the show.
This episode of Star Trek Voyager is another reminder that they can use the holodecks despite having to conserve energy and eat Neelix’s shitty food.
Our pathetic friend Ensign Harry Kim was running a holo novel based on Beowulf and some dumb future magic shit happens where he disappears, Chakotay and Tuvok are sent in to see where he went and they disappear too. Oh it turns out that all the safeties are off on the thing. So who do you send in now? The holographic doctor on his first away mission. From this point on the episode becomes semi-enjoyable, because The Doctor is the only reason to watch this series at this point.
Doctor goes in after a conversation with Kes about picking a name. Yawn. I’ve noticed something about Kes. She has a caring personality, but she says everything like she’s a wooden spoon.
Inside the holodeck the Doctor meets the hot blonde warrior woman Freya, they talk to the king and his dudes, the doctor leaves and comes back when he’s got a plan. It all turns out that the Voyager crew accidentally captured some life forms made of energy. One of the life forms is in the holodeck capturing the crew. Doc is going to bring the thing that has been taking the crew members the captured life form in the hopes that it returns the missing Voyager crew.
But before he can one of the king’s men accidentally murders Freya while he’s trying to kill The Doctor. Doc frees the creature, the missing Voyager crew returns.
Some Deep Thoughts:
Overall this episode was slightly less torturous that average. The Doctor even makes crap better, though I think more time could have been spent on the fact that he’s running around in nature. Had he even seen a tree in “real life” before? I know it’s a hologram like him, but I bet he’s only interacted with the environment of sick bay.
Least Annoying Characters:
Most Torturous Moment:
The Doctor morning the loss for Freya. Hey Doc, she’s a computer program. You can just reboot her.
How Close Was Chris?
There’s a hot chick and the Doctor is looking at her… it’s actually pretty close.
Torture Score: 2 out of 5 Neelixes
