Movie Stuff Patton Oswalt: Patton Oswalt went on an unscripted rant about what the next Star Wars film should be on Parks and Rec and the internet lost it’s shit. It was amusing to some extent, but I feel like there was huge over reaction on this one. It’s like I’m the [...] You’ve patiently waited, so now you’re wait is over with the results of the rest of my post Christmas toy hunting orgy. Enjoy! Vintage Style B-Wing: I realize that I’m a fool, but at least I admit it. The vintage style packaging on the Star Wars vehicles beckon me like a Siren’s song [...] I’m still on a collecting low thanks to tough finances and space considerations, so it’s far less often that I manage to pick something up that is toy related. Thanks to some Christmas cash I was able to get my hands on some stuff I’ve had my eye on for awhile, so I went [...] For today’s Toy Hunt I’d like to focus on a recent Star Wars purchase. I’ve tried to back away from buying new Star Wars and G.I. Joe figures, but this was a needed exception. One of the background Jedi characters that I’ve latched onto is Barriss Offee. Why? She’s a hot Indian Jedi [...] These pictures pretty much speak for themselves, but here we have some Lego representations of the classic M.A.S.K. toys. Holy crap, these are awesome. Pretty much every M.A.S.K. toy is represented complete with transformations. Be sure to click here for more pictures. [...] What’s not to love about this custom Alien action figure? I love how it looks like Kenner’s vintage Star Wars figs. If only this figure line had been real. Thanks to: Super Punch More Batman 1989 goodness! This time we have some toys from that awesome movie with a commercial from the much inferior Batman Returns thrown in. But before we get to them, let’s do some quick background. When ’89 Batman first came out, there were toy tie-ins. While some of them were awesome like the Batplane [...] Back in my youth I had an insatiable appetite for Star Wars, particularly the toys from Kenner. The mail-away figures were quite popular in my household due to the fact that I didn’t have an exactly affluent upbringing. Don’t get me wrong, we weren’t on food stamps or anything like that, I just wasn’t [...] I love the DC Superpowers toy line with all my heart, but this “vehicle” really was stretching it a bit thin. It reveals that even a nearly invincible being with dozens of super powers can be the laziest jerk on the planet: Really Superman? Walking and flying are too strenuous for you? [...] |
