Chris’ Comments: Thank you to Mark Englert for pointing out to me that this is a thing that Star Trek likes to do.

Vincent’s Comments: Today’s Star Trek Problems focuses on a big problem in sci-fi. To make a comparison your characters can’t always reference contemporary and past Earth figures, but at the same time your audience might get lost if you just drop in some alien name? Next Generation loved doing the three part reference. Two normal names, then a made up one. It’s incredibly silly, like a Monty Python, Comedy Bang Bang, or Thermopulian Beta sketch.

  • This is freakin’ hilarious! I’ve been a hardcore Next Gen fan for decades and this just made my Friday!

Thanks. We have a decent backlog of more. Just put out a silly one each Friday.
