New Supervillains for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been steadily improving. One good thing they’re adding? Supervillains! In the promo video for the next episode of the show, for Tuesday the 17th, we see Calvin Zabo (aka Mr. Hyde) gathering together a team of supervillains because he wants revenge on S.H.I.E.L.D., specifically on director Coulson. The show released the above poster and confirmed who two of the characters are but not the other two. In the middle we have Kyle MacLachlan as Calvin Zabo/Mr. Hyde. To the right is Drea de Matteo as Karla Faye Gideon and all the way on the right is Angar the Screamer. Both of those are actually from the Daredevil comics but there doesn’t seem to be any obvious connection to the character despite his show launching in less than a month.

Karla Faye Gideon was an abused spouse that Daredevil saved, a minor character. In the preview, she seems to have claws and be a villain. Strange choice. Angar the Screamer in the comics is a total weirdo C-list villain who was a peacenik that had his vocal cords bombarded with “hyper sound” which gave him the ability to scream real loud and hypnotize people. It seems more likely these two got their powers by simply being Inhumans born with abilities. Another option could be that Calvin (also known as The Doctor on the show) experimented on these folks and gave them their abilities. Maybe we’ll also finally see him transform into Mr. Hyde?

That leaves the two guys on the left. The second one in is actor Geo Corvera, playing someone named Francis Noche. Here’s a leap, follow me. In the preview we see Agent Simmons attacking the team. Could that mean Noche is Marvel supervillain The Corruptor? His name was Jackson Day and Noche is Spanish for night. Like I said, it’s a leap, but a character who can control people by touching them is certainly a tv-level super power. The guy on the far left is Ric Sarabia as Wendell Levi. Maybe someone that Mr. Hyde has teamed up with in the comics? Vibro? Whirlwind? Grey Gargoyle? Let us know what you think.
