Hey, looky here there’s a video live action trailer / video game mash up for Halo 4!
I used to be a huge Halo fanboy. I’ve purchased and played every Halo themed game that’s come out since the original Halo CE for the Xbox (including Halo PC and Halo Wars)… but I don’t know. I think I’m old now or something, because I’m about 1/100th as excited as I used to be about such things. Maybe I’ve had too much Halo? It doesn’t help that I’m barely excited by video games in general these days. Regardless, I’ll probably be buying this and I’ll most likely do it on the day of release, another habit which is limited mostly to the Halo franchise.
Speaking of the Flood, I don’t think I can lay the blame entirely on myself for the burned out feeling. A big part of it has to do with the way the series unfolded during the course of Halo 2 and 3. The way the Flood worked out with Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors rhyming at Master Chief was incredibly annoying and I think a rather large misstep. Halo: Reach and ODST where fun games, but by then the damage had been done.
It is kind of interesting that in Halo 4 Master Chief will be fighting Micheal Bay’s Transformers and (probably) not the regular stable of enemies. This will help a lot with the been there/done that feeling with all new enemy types. I just hope that there’s no Flood. I’m so f’ing sick of the Flood…
If Halo 4 can’t revive the spark that is dying for Halo (and most third person shooters in general), I’m probably done with the whole series, much like how I’ve dropped out of Call of Duty.
