The trailer you see above is not a parody. Super7 has created a new episode of Masters of the Universe, the same show that ended in 1985. It will premiere this Wednesday at the corner of 8th Ave and G in downtown San Diego, 10pm. It will then be available on iTunes and GooglePlay on August 1st. Crazy.
Lego announced that they will sell a big replica of the Disney Castle (technically the castle from Cinderella but best known as the one at the center of their theme parks) on September 1st. It’ll have over 4,000 bricks and retail for $350. Not a bad value if you like to build their big sets. It comes with five minifigs – Mickey in tux, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Tinkerbell. And the back of it is full of rooms replicating various scenes from animated movies: Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and more.
Speaking of Lego, they shared the above image of their upcoming Adventure Time set. It was submitted by a fan through Lego Ideas and got approved. It’s missing a few characters from the submission, like Lumpy Space Princess but she will have a minifig soon for the Lego Dimensions videogame thing, so it all works out. The set will be available January 1st for $50.
Hot Toys announced its second version of Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This one will be in her “Resistance outfit” she wore at the end of the movie. It’s up for pre-order here at Sideshow and should be done around November. I think I’m still glad I ordered her original version but this looks terrific.
On November 11, Nintendo will release the NES Classic, which is a mini Nintendo based on the original Nintendo Entertainment System. It will retail for $60 and come pre-installed with 30 games including Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Metroid and other classics. It’ll also have an HDMI cable.
League of Gods is an upcoming superhero movie from China. And it looks batshit insane. The official description reads: “Featuring a group of unique superheroes, the film tells the story of how King Zhou of Shang becomes a tyrant under the spell of Daji, a vixen spirit who is disguised as one of his concubines.” Forget all that, I’m interested in the magic baby that has fart powers.
Entertainment Weekly has the official first look at Roland and The Man in Black from the Dark Tower movie. I really loved the novels so I’m excited for the movie. I hope it does the series justice. Fortunately, with a premise that allows you to cross into other worlds, times and realities, there’s a lot of wiggle room to be different and still be faithful to the stories by Stephen King.
Why is the official Star Trek account tweeting not so great reviews that say beyond isn’t a Star Trek film pic.twitter.com/vCpXIHqgqo

I want to be excited for the new Star Trek movie. I’ll definitely see it. But there isn’t a lot of buzz, especially when you consider this is Star Trek’s 50th anniversary and there’s been next to zero mention about that milestone. Above is a review for it that was only ok but the official Star Trek twitter retweeted it. They’ve since deleted that retweet.
Lionsgate released character portraits for the new Power Rangers movie that lands in 2017.

Okay, so it isn’t a big surprise that we’ll get Kid Flash in season 3 of Flash. Cool costume, totally dig it. But who is the apparently evil speedster next to him? Are they going to do a speedster as the Big Bad for a third time? Maybe it’s The Rival?
Okay, small plug for me. I painted Zartan from G.I. Joe for a pop culture gallery show at Substation in Seattle. It’s my first gallery show. I don’t paint often but I had an idea for this one. Zartan’s eyes and some of the leaves glow and the leaves on the glass are a heat-sensitive pigment that disappear when it’s hot (so if you put a hair dryer on it, for instance). If you’re interested, it’s for sale. If you’re interested, contact email@example.com.
