So Marvel released the opening scene from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3. Looks like Skye is officially Daisy Johnson/Quake now, complete with a Black Widow-esque suit. And it appears the focus will be on finding Inhumans. Will that help up the super powered quotient in the show? Or does it need more Marvel connections to really work? Will you tune in this Tuesday to give it a shot?
We have some interesting news this week including eSports coming to TV, a potential actors strike looming, big Star Wars rumors and upcoming new TV shows you could be into!
This is a rumor that you should probably take with a grain of salt. It makes a certain type of sense but is still probably not true. The rumor is that Hayden Christensen is training to get in shape for Star Wars VIII, to be directed by Rian Johnson. Why would he come back? It could be as a Force ghost or it could be that the bad guy in part VII, Kylo Ren, clones Darth Vader because he’s supposedly obsessed with the Sith. So, sure, maybe that’s what Kylo Ren is all about, but it seems like an odd choice nonetheless, since the prequels were popular enough but not really as beloved as the original trilogy.
Facebook and Star Wars teamed up to create a new 360 degree video showing you Jakku, the desert junk planet. If you click that link, you get taken to the video, which is seen from the perspective of riding Rey’s bike past a crashed Imperial Star Destroyer. But while the video plays, you can move your mouse to change the view in any direction. The video will loop so that you can check out different angles. It’s a pretty interesting piece of technology and apparently Facebook plans to release more of these soon.
Above is a short featurette explaining who the main characters in the upcoming Ash vs. The Evil Dead show on Starz will be. It doesn’t have any spoilers, it just allows the actors to mention a thing or two about the characters they’ll be playing. I plan on signing up for Starz next month just to watch this show. It starts on Halloween and the first episode is directed by Sam Raimi, director of the trilogy starring Ash.
Do you miss the A-Team? Because 20th Century Fox TV is working on a TV reboot. It will still be about military special operatives framed for a crime they didn’t commit and helping people each week while also trying to clear their names but instead of using the same four original characters, it will be a mix of men and women this time. It is being developed by Fast & Furious writer/producer Chris Morgan and Tawnia McKiernan, the daughter of the A-Team’s creator, Stephen Cannell. I’m fine with all of that as long as the original theme song stays the same!
