Vincent’s Comments: While Chris jokes around with DS9, we both agree that it is arguably the best Star Trek series even though there’s a Space Jew in it. If you want my opinion, this was the most boring episode yet of the show. It’s called “The Zarak Shield Turns the Tide” but I don’t know how accurate it is. Last week, the Decepticons successfully blackmailed the Autobots into getting ahold of the blueprints to their greatest weapon: the Master Sword. This week, they [...] I’m not sure what the theme of this week’s episode is but I do know its motif – pointing. The animators went pointing-finger crazy. It’s probably not a great sign when that’s the first thing I notice, but it is what it is. This episode is called “The Master Sword is in Danger” and it [...] Last episode ended with the Transformers in space and the Autobots were trying to dispose of a massive bomb. While the three new Autobot warriors fought the three new Decepticons, who all happened to have gun-related names but no guns, some refugee Transformers from planet Master met the Autobots and flew the bomb deeper into [...] It’s been a while since the show introduced new characters so here comes a two-parter trying to convince us there are some new toys – excuse me, characters that we should love. We open part 1 of “Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters” at the Autobot base on Earth. It pans past Jetfire! But he doesn’t do anything. I missed out on DS9 when it first came out. I thought it was boring. Only later did I catch up on [...] Episode 26 is called “I Risk My Life for Earth” and while the good guys do that most episodes, I’m pretty sure the phrase is supposed to be attributed to Spike who sustains a serious injury this week. But the episode begins with Zarak declaring himself the Decepticon leader (for a second time this season, [...] We love the bizarre art, confusing stories and strange messages found in Chick Tracts. Our favorites are the ones that try to use sci-fi and pop culture in a transparent attempt to hit the youth with their comic books. But this one is even more of a quickie attempt to catch the zeitgest than usual. [...] Today’s episode is titled “The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg.” Pack your bags everyone.
